A purely experimental acrylic painting that draws on pouring techniques but also more nuanced painterly techniques to instill an optical and voluminous impression. Although the painting is exceedingly colourful, I have limited the amount of colours utilized. The pattern of lines that swirl around a less bold merging of earthy colours may be construed as the eye of the sardonic clown or jester. What is quite apparent when viewing this piece is that automatic or chance painterly methods are reworked with more deliberate and planned lines and colour blending. (Ras Steyn)
